Friday night is the Carnton Ward Temple Night as many of you know. Our ward is scheduled for the 7:30pm session; we would like to invite you (and your wife) to join us before the temple session at the Genghis Grill in Franklin for dinner (600 Frazier Drive Franklin, TN 37067, http://www.genghisgrill.com). We will be meeting at the restaurant between 5:00pm and 5:30pm for dinner and then proceeding directly to the temple at about 7:00pm.
You are welcome to join us for just dinner or just the temple or both. We look forward to spending time with each of you serving the Lord and hope you can take time out of your busy schedules to enjoy time with your wife and ward family!
Please RSVP by Friday morning (11:00 am) if you will be joining us for dinner or the temple or both so I can let the temple and the restaurant know that we are coming and they are prepared.
p.s. This invite is going out to mostly Elders so if there are others (High Priests, single Sister's or Brother's or young adults) who you would like to invite please forward the invite as all are welcome to join us! Email addresses were blind copied to protect privacy as this is not an official church email/announcement
Kindly,

FEMA Crisis Counseling
Dear Sisters:
Below is an e-mail shared by Pat Woodmansee/Maury County Emergency Team, concerning potential full-time job opportunities in our stake boundaries. Please share this information with the bishops, employment specialists and sisters in your units. These positions will fill quickly, but may be a great opportunity for those looking for full-time employment for the next year.
Thank you,
Lynette Harris, Secretary
Franklin Stake Relief Society
As Centerstone looks to receive a FEMA grant to provide "Crisis Counseling" for the next 60 days (and more than likely an extension for another 10 months for a one year grant), I am going to be in need of 11 Crisis Counselors; these are full time positions paying hopefully around $20 per hour. These individuals will be working in 14 counties of middle Tennessee that Centerstone covers and were declared disaster counties by the President. The counties are:
Columbia Area
Hickman
Lawrence
Lewis
Maury
Perry
Wayne
Clarksville Area
Cheatham
Dickson
Houston
Humphreys
Montgomery
Robertson
Stewart
and sharing responsibility of Davidson county with the Mental Health Coop.
Their job will be community outreach; going door-to-door checking on people impacted by the floods and attending community meetings of flood victims, etc.
These positions do not require a mental health degree or experience. Training will be provided by FEMA to these individuals prior to there "hitting the streets" on psychological first aid.
Please pass this information along to anyone you might know of that lives in any of these areas that might be looking for a full time job for the next year and that you think would be a good fit?
Tell them they can contact me via my e-mail and to also include your name in their e-mail to me.
Thanks.

Nashville flood relief opportunities

As the case in any disaster, the recovery phase is the longest part of the experience, and one that requires a strong and sustained effort from volunteers. While the events of the past 48 hours have created a sense of urgency, the real effects of volunteers are going to be felt through the rest of this week and month as we do the nitty-gritty work of cleaning, rebuilding, and restoring.

Visiting Teaching Interviews
Hello Sisters,
During the next couple of weeks, P. Seegmiller and I will be conducting Visiting Teaching Interviews with all of our Ward's Visiting Teachers. We just want to get some of your input and insight as to your calling as a Visiting Teacher, and also hear your thoughts or concerns regarding your companion or your route. We will begin these interviews this Sunday, April 18th, after church from 2:15 to 3:15. We only need 5 or 10 minutes of your time. We will also do the same thing on Tuesday, April 20th during mutual, from 7:00 to 8:30. We hope to hear from each of you during these two time periods, however, we will again do the same thing on Sunday, April 25th and Tuesday, April 27th.
Please e-mail me and let me know which day works better for you and even if there is a time that is better for you. I will keep a list that is first come first serve and let you know where I can fit you in. If you would rather call, my phone please do so. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
F. Strawbridge

Day of Service

Dear Sisters;
Just a note to remind you of our upcoming day of service on April 24th. We have been asked to provide 20 people to volunteer from 9-12 at the Carter House at 1140 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN. We will be doing clean-up so please dress accordingly. As we only have one Sunday left I am trying to get an idea of who will be available to participate. Please email me at ramonarossrn@comcast.net if you are planning to participate. Remember is a community project so you can invite your friends and neighbors to help. Thanks

Service opportunities for Primary Children

The Primary has been asked to help with 'The Day of Service' on April 24th. Although the primary children will not be actively involved on the 24th, we have been asked to donate new or gently used children's books for Mercy Clinic and children's shoes and adult shoes for Soles 4 Souls. Donation boxes will be located in the primary room and in the foyers at the church. If members are donating shoes, we ask that rubber bands be put around the shoes to keep them together.
Each week in Primary we will help the children get excited about being involved in the stake wide day of service by donating their old shoes and books to less fortunate children.

Important! P r o v i d e n t L i v i n g

Food Kit Orders! What a great time to rotate your 72-hr Emergency Food! As General Conference and Stake Conference occupy the following two Sundays, we will not have a chance to collect any checks in person for the 72-Hour Food Kits. Several of you have ordered, and we are excited to put these together! With Spring Break approaching, be sure to go online here and purchase these right away or mail Christine a check as we won't be able to purchase your food without payment. Kits are $10 each. Final collection date April 11th. (Thanks for understanding). See the attachment above to verify if your payment has been received.
KnowWhat2Do This coming Provident Living Night promises to be both informative and fun! While we could personally provide you with text book information on how to be prepared, our speaker, Kathy Elskamp, has lived it! Prepare yourself for a wonderful evening Tuesday, April 13th and bring a friend. For more information go to the Carnton Relief Society Blog and click on Carnton Ward Provident Living.

Last Chance! The garden grow containers were such a hit! So many of you have asked for another and another that Kathy is offering one more opportunity to get your 'bucket containers' in time for the growing season. Thank you Kathy and Peter! You can order as many as you need by going to the website where you will see the Bucket Garden Container heading in the left hand column of the homepage or mail Christine a check (Garden Containers are $13.60 each.) Final collection date April 4th.
