FEMA Crisis Counseling

Below is an e-mail shared by Pat Woodmansee/Maury County Emergency Team, concerning potential full-time job opportunities in our stake boundaries. Please share this information with the bishops, employment specialists and sisters in your units. These positions will fill quickly, but may be a great opportunity for those looking for full-time employment for the next year.

As Centerstone looks to receive a FEMA grant to provide "Crisis Counseling" for the next 60 days (and more than likely an extension for another 10 months for a one year grant), I am going to be in need of 11 Crisis Counselors; these are full time positions paying hopefully around $20 per hour. These individuals will be working in 14 counties of middle Tennessee that Centerstone covers and were declared disaster counties by the President. The counties are:
Columbia Area
Hickman
Lawrence
Lewis
Maury
Perry
Wayne

Clarksville Area
Cheatham
Dickson
Houston
Humphreys
Montgomery
Robertson
Stewart
and sharing responsibility of Davidson county with the Mental Health Coop.

Their job will be community outreach; going door-to-door checking on people impacted by the floods and attending community meetings of flood victims, etc.
These positions do not require a mental health degree or experience. Training will be provided by FEMA to these individuals prior to there "hitting the streets" on psychological first aid.
